James Adam Redfield is Assistant Professor of Biblical and Talmudic Literatures in the Department of Theological Studies at St. Louis University, a Fellow at the Cornell University Society for the Humanities (2019-20), and Humboldt Fellow at the Potsdam School of Jewish Theology (2021-22). James has published translations from German and Yiddish, and an interview with the French writer Leïla Sebbar. His edition and translation of an early twentieth-century Yiddish collection by Micah Joseph Berdichevsky, Letters from a Distant Relation, is forthcoming with Syracuse University Press (with a preface by Avner Holtzman).
