Yaakov Herskovitz is a fellow at the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies where he is working on a book manuscript on Self-Translation between Yiddish and Hebrew in the post-Mendele world. In the previous year he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Kipp Center for Hebrew Literature and Culture. Prior to that he received his PhD from the Department of Near Eastern Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His research interests include Modern Hebrew & Yiddish literature, translation studies, multilingualism and the making of national Jewish cultures.
