Jordan Lee Schnee is a German-American writer, musician, and translator based in Berlin. He holds a BA in Creative Translation from New York University and a MA in English Philology from the Freie Universität Berlin, where he teaches English literature and is pursuing a doctorate. His PhD project examines the concordant poetics of kabbalah and OuLiPo texts and is being supported by a fellowship from the ELES Foundation. Schnee is also the author and editor of translations of numerous of South American and Yiddish authors. His translations of Debora Vogel have appeared in Asymptote and on walls in Berlin as part of artist Ella Ponizovsky Bergelson’s Present Figures project. Published collections include Some Dollars by Washington Cucurto (Eloísa Cartonera) and Flores de vidrio//Flores de vidro by Debora Vogel (Milena Caserola, Buenos Aires//Ediçiãos Jabuticaba, São Paolo). Schnee has also curated contemporary Yiddish readings for the Haus für Poesie.
