Moyshe Stewart learned just a bit of Yiddish growing up with his parents, more from his time with the Lubavitcher chassidim in his twenties, and then, later in life, studied Yiddish formally at the Boston Workers Circle and various Yiddish programs in the U.S and abroad. Opatoshu’s Der Mishpet is his first published translation. For the past 40 years he has counseled children and their families as a psychologist and family therapist. He is a lover of children’s literature and is pleased to make his first contribution to that library of works. He can be reached at [email protected]
