David L. Zakalik

David L. Zakalik is an independent scholar and translator based in Washington, DC. He was a 2023–2024 Translation Fellow at the Yiddish Book Center, under whose auspices he translated Olek’s Gambit. He has consulted and translated for the Capital Jewish Museum, US Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the Folger Shakespeare Library, as well as the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research and the Center for Traditional Music and Dance. He is a distant relative of the authors Menakhem and Duvid Tsudek Zakalik.
