Tatjana Meisler studied German literature and Jewish Studies in Frankfurt am Main, specializing in older Yiddish literature, modern literature of the twentieth century, and literature for children and young adults. She studied modern Yiddish at Tel Aviv University. In Berlin she worked on the DFG-project on "Widuwilt" under the direction of Prof. Dr. Astrid Lembke. At the Humboldt University in Berlin she gave seminars on older Yiddish literature, German-Jewish children's literature and Jewish femininity in contemporary German literature.
