Sarah Schulman is an award-winning publisher, cultural producer, and founder of Dos Nisele, a cultural platform dedicated to revitalizing Yiddish language and culture in Sweden. Raised in a Yiddish-speaking family, she creates projects that connect new generations with Yiddish through a multimodal approach.
She is the producer of Georg Riedel's Yiddishland, which brought together legendary Swedish composer Georg Riedel and Yiddish poet Salomon Schulman to compose a new canon of Yiddish songs for children and families. The project resulted in an award-winning illustrated songbook and a nomination for Best Children's Album at Sweden's Manifest Gala.
Sarah is the driving force behind Jiddischklubben, a weekly Yiddish club for families. She also serves on the board of the Yiddish Society in Sweden, the country's largest organization dedicated to Yiddish language and culture.
Her work spans publishing, theater, concerts, music videos, animation, and television productions that bring together Swedish and Yiddish audiences. Most recently, she produced a Yiddish-language animated adaptation of Dave Horowitz's Five Little Gefiltes, which opened the International Jewish Film Festival and BUFF, Sweden's international children's and youth film festival.
In 2025, Sarah was awarded Sweden's Minority Language Prize in recognition of her contributions to the preservation, promotion, and revitalization of Yiddish language and culture.
