Melissa Weininger

Rice University

Melissa Weininger is the Anna Smith Fine Senior Lecturer in Jewish Studies and the Associate Director of the Program in Jewish Studies at Rice University. Her research focuses on modern Hebrew and Yiddish literature, Jewish nationalism, and gender, and she is currently at work on a book on diaspora Israeli literature. She teaches courses on Jewish film and literature, women and gender, and modern Israel. Her work has appeared in Prooftexts, Shofar, and Studies in the Novel.
