Genre-defying and tradition-inhabiting trombonist, improviser, and klezmer musician Dan Blacksberg creates a vast musical universe that encompasses everything from the minute variations of a melody that power the unencumbered joy of a Yiddish Dance Party to the hair-raising extended techniques of the most avant-garde jazz and noise rock, and most everything in between. Through teaching and performance Dan works to foster community and inspire new generations of musicians as a mainstay at festivals like Yiddish New York, Klezkanada, and the Krakow Jewish Culture Festival, as the musician in residence at Kol Tzedek Synagogue, and as the creator and host of the Radiant Others Podcast.

Nayer Dor(s?), New Vistas for Radiant Others
Dan Blacksberg
I created Radiant Others way back in 2017 to share casual, in-depth, wide-ranging conversations with musicians, dancers, scholars, actors, and poets. My dream is that our listeners get mesmerized by our Yiddish world—and inspired to invest themselves, to do the work to create a place for themselves in it.
