Claire Breger-Belsky

Claire Breger-Belsky is a translator from Yiddish and Spanish whose work focuses on poetry and drama, the intersections between Spanish and Yiddish, and writing by women. They were awarded a 2025 Fulbright grant to research Yiddish literature in Argentina and hold an MFA in literary translation from the University of Iowa and a BA in theater and performance studies from Stanford University. From 2023 to 2024 they worked as a translation and bibliography fellow at the Yiddish Book Center, where they currently edit translations for the online Yiddish in Translation series. Claire is the current translations editor for ⁠In geveb: A Journal of Yiddish Studies⁠.
