Brivkestl: Call for Responses to our Publishing about the Israel-Gaza war

Notes from the Editors

Tayere leyeners,

We recently published a collection of new Yiddish poetry responding to the Israel-Gaza War, our latest in a series of related publications, which have included a list of teaching resources and translations of a story by Avrom Karpinovich and a poem by Ber Kotlerman. We have received a number of responses to this most recent collection, both in appreciation and in strongly felt critique. We have tremendous respect for our readers in all their convictions, even - especially - when they express concerns about what we publish. We would like to offer a forum for reactions about this. Do you appreciate that In geveb published these poems? Do you wish we had not done so? What do you think about our coverage in relation to the war, over all? Do you have other suggestions for content in response to the current moment? Let us know. We will be collecting your responses and will publish a selection of them in a Loyt di leyeners feature; selected responses may be edited for length and clarity. We will only publish responses that are written in a spirit of respectful exchange.

To contribute, please write to [email protected] with “Loyt di leyeners” in the subject line by March 12. Please also let us know if you would like your name to be attached to your contribution, or if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
