Yuu Nishimura

Yuu Nishimura is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow of the Japan Society of the Promotion of Science (JSPS), hosted at Kanazawa University, Japan. She received her PhD from the Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies at Kyoto University (Thesis: The Jewish Labor Bund’s National Cultural Autonomy and Yiddish Secular School Movements, 1897–1939). She undertook her doctoral research at the City University of New York with the Fulbright Grant (2012–2013), and at the University of Warsaw granted with the Polish Government Scholarship (2013–2014). Her scholarly interests are in the social and cultural history of East European Jews.
