Shaina Hammerman

Shaina Hammerman is the author of Silver Screen, Hasidic Jews: The Story of an Image. She teaches Jewish cultural history at the University of San Francisco. Her current research examines how blacks and Jews represent each other on screens. Hammerman holds a Ph.D. in Jewish History and Culture from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley.
