Rob Adler Peckerar is the executive director of Yiddishkayt in Los Angeles and former professor of Jewish literature and culture at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His dissertation under the direction, of Chana Kronfeld and Robert Alter, focused on the relationship between modern Yiddish literature and neighboring dominant cultures. In his work at Yiddishkayt, including the immersive cultural expeditions such as the Helix Project that he leads to Central and Eastern Europe, Adler Peckerar’s current work deals with sharing neglected pieces of Jewish cultural history, treating Yiddish in particular as a microcosm of intercultural interaction.
