Lillian Leavitt

Lillian Shporer Leavitt grew up in Boston in a Yiddish speaking home. She gained childhood Yiddish literacy at the Boston Workmen’s Circle Shule and Yiddish literary education in a variety of adult courses. Professionally, Lillian worked as an IT systems business analyst. She also taught evening classes in Yiddish language and literature at the Boston Worker’s Circle and other community venues for over twenty years. Today, in retirement from both IT and teaching, she is devoting her time to translating a variety of Yiddish writings.
