Eyshe Beirich is a PhD student in Yiddish and German studies in the Department of Germanic Languages at Columbia University, where he works on themes of race and language ideology in Yiddish and German literature. He also works as a Yiddish teacher, writer, and translator, most recently with the Max Weinreich Center at YIVO. His writings in Yiddish and English have been published in In geveb, Afn shvel, and the Forverts.
